a month agoOur campaign seeks to raise awareness among German politicians and society about the enduring legacy of the Armenian Genocide and its relevance to the contemporary struggles of the people of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Through our Armenian Genocide events, we aim to foster greater understanding and empathy, leading to increased support for the Armenian community in their ongoing struggles. By shedding light on historical injustices and their present-day ramifications, we strive to catalyze positive change and promote justice for all affected.
The Armenian Genocide and ongoing threats to Armenia's existence, exacerbated by recent events in Nagorno-Karabakh, persist as pressing issues requiring immediate attention. Despite efforts to confront past atrocities, there remains a pervasive tendency towards collective forgetting, hindering progress towards justice.
Our event organization is committed to addressing this gap in historical consciouness, both in Germany and across Europe. By focusing on the commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, in the context of culture of memory, we aim to foster a culture of remembrance, empathy, and accountability.
The participation of internationally recognised prominent figures, is crucial in this endeavor. By engaging respected scholars, activists, and political leaders, we can amplify the message of remembrance and justice within German society and beyond. Their involvement not only lends credibility to our cause but also serves to challenge prevailing narratives and confront historical denial.
By raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and advocating for policy change, we seek to confront denial, combat indifference, and demand accountability for past and present injustices.
Ultimately, our goal is to ensure that the memory of the Armenian Genocide is not relegated to the margins of history but occupies its rightful place alongside other tragedies in the collective consciousness of Europe.
Our team, the board of central council of Armenians in Germany, brings together individuals deeply committed to the cause, with a wealth of experience in advocacy, community organizing, and academia. Led by dedicated leaders such as Jonathan Spangenberg, Serge Derhagopian, Samwel Lulukyan, Siranush Astaturyan, and Silva Ajderian, we are united in our mission to effect meaningful change and uphold the rights and dignity of the Armenian people.
The Central Council of Armenians in Germany is a non profit organisation and committed since more than four decades to commemoration of Armenian Genocide. Our fundraising campaign budget is carefully allocated to support the key event, including advocacy efforts. With transparent accounting and responsible stewardship of funds, we ensure that every donation contributes directly to advancing our mission.
